Create a MSN Games nickname

If you have never created a nickname on MSN Games, create a new nickname.

Reset Internet Options

If you have a nickname selected, but still appear as a guest in the game, follow the steps below to clear your cookies and Windows Internet cache.

Step 1

Sign out of all MSN Games accounts, including MSN Messenger.

Step 2

Close all Internet browser windows and exit any e-mail programs you have open.

Step 3

Close MSN Messenger if it is open. In the System Tray on your Task Bar, you will see a MSN Messenger Icon. Right-click on this icon and click Exit.

Step 4

Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. In Windows XP, click Start and then Control Panel.

If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

Step 5

Double-click Internet Options. In Windows XP, you may need to click the Network and Internet Connections icon before clicking Internet Options.

Step 6

On the General Tab in Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Cookies and then OK.

Step 7

Next, click Delete Files and then OK.

Step 8

Click the Privacy tab in the Internet Options window and click Advanced.

Step 9

If “Override automatic cookie handling” is checked, click once in the check box to uncheck this setting. Click OK.

Step 10

Now on the Privacy tab, click Default Level and lower the slider to Medium, Low, or Accept All Cookies in the Settings section.

Step 11

Click the Security tab.

Step 12

In the Security level for this zone section, click Custom Level to open Security Settings.

Step 13

In the Reset custom setting section, change the Reset to: option to Medium or Medium-low.

Step 14

Click Reset.

Step 15

Click OK to close the Security Settings window.

Step 16

On the Security Settings tab, click Restricted sites and click Sites.

Step 17

Under Web sites, locate the “zone.msn.com,” “msn.com,” or “zone.com” domain. Highlight the site and click Remove.  Repeat this step for “passport.net” and “live.com.”

Once these sites are removed, click OK.

Click Internet to return to Security Settings.

Click the Advanced tab

Scroll down to the Security section and make sure Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 are checked.

Click the Content tab.

Step 23

Under Certificates, click Clear SSL State.

Step 24

Click OK to close Internet Options.

Step 25

Open a new browser, go to http://games.msn.com, click Sign In and sign into MSN Games. (Do not sign in first using a different Windows Live™ ID service, for example signing in on the MSN home page or Hotmail before going to MSN Games.)

If you are using MSN Explorer, open Internet Explorer, go to http://games.msn.com and sign into MSN Games using your MSN Internet Service account information.
